Admission

and referrals

Admissions to our homes should be planned whenever possible and young people must be between the ages of 11 and 17 years on admission.

Placements can be provided for:

• Children who are unable to live with their families due to abuse, neglect, family dysfunction or rejection, or where families are unable to meet their needs

• Children who require a placement with the aim of rehabilitation to their families

• Children whose placements have broken down and need a period in which appropriate plans can be made for their future

• Children who need a period of stability and preparation for moving to an identified future placement

• Children who require a long term placement in residential care with stability and nurture until independence

• Children who have been remanded into the care of the local authority by the courts or the police

We cannot accommodate:

• Children who have a drug or alcohol dependency

• Children who need nursing care or have a high level of physical dependency

• Children who pose a significant risk to other household members

• Children with severe physical disabilities, severe learning disabilities or with sensory impairment
